Jason Michael Gedroic was born on 7 February 1965, in Chicago, Illinois USA, in Cook County Hospital, of part-Polish descent. He has two older siblings, a brother named Joel Gedroic and a sister Dawne Gedroic.
The family spent their early years in Mount Prospect suburbs, but he moved to the Uptown neighborhood sometime later after his parents divorced, and he was left in the custody of his mother, while his siblings remained with their father.
Gedrick attended the Roman Catholic Gordon Technical High School in Chicago, matriculating in 1982.
