Parents Relationship and Life So Far
Jack’s father Chris met Anna Frais on the set of “Take Me Home Tonight” in which the two played the roles of love interests. The two were in a relationship for a year before becoming engaged, then after witnessing a friend’s wedding, the two ‘eloped’ and married in Bali, Indonesia. They then returned home, and reside in Hollywood Hills, California.
There was a lot of drama surrounding Jack’s birth in 2012 as he was born nine weeks premature -doctors even gave the couple a bad initial prognosis. Despite that, he was able to survive and live healthily, with Chris stating that his son’s premature birth helped build his faith in God.
The family lived quietly for a few years before his parents separated in 2017, leading to divorce the following year. He shares custody between both parents, who have made considerable efforts to keep him away from the public eye. His father later remarried in 2018, while his mother later became engaged to cinematographer Michael Barrett.
Mother – Anna Faris
Jack’s mother Anna started as an aspiring novelist, though she got into acting to try and pay the bills while she was working on her book. Eventually, she realized that she was gaining solid paydays for her acting work leading her to focus on it mainstream.
In the 2000s, she rose to fame as the lead character in the “Scary Movie” film franchise, playing the lead character Cindy Campbell; the films were parodies of some of the most popular horror movies of the time.
She also continued gaining significant attention for her comedic roles. Some of her well-known films include “The Hot Chick”, “Lost in Translation”, “My Super Ex-Girlfriend”, and “The Dictator”. She also had a notable recurring role in the final season of “Friends”, playing the surrogate mother to Monica and Chandler’s twins. Apart from her live-action work, she’s also lent her voice to various animated projects, including “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks”.
Father – Chris Pratt
Chris grew up in Virginia, Minnesota, where his father worked in remodeling houses, after living most of his career as a miner. His mother, on the other hand, worked at a local supermarket. After a few years in Virginia, the family moved and settled in Lake Stevens, Washington State, where he attended Lake Stevens High School, joining the local wrestling team. From a young age he was determined to find fame and fortune. After matriculating from high school, he enrolled at a community college but dropped out to spend more time in efforts towards his goal.
He ended up in Maui, Hawaii, becoming involved with the organization Jews for Jesus. However, he was homeless after working briefly as a daytime stripper, but then worked at a local restaurant where he was discovered by director Rae Dawn Chong, who would cast him in her directorial debut in Los Angeles. This led to more work for him, and he became set on a career as an actor. His first television appearance was in “The Huntress” in 2001, and after its cancellation, he joined the fourth season of “The O.C.” before gaining a small role in the film “Wanted”, which starred James McAvoy.
The Success of Chris Pratt
In 2009, Pratt gained his breakthrough role in the sitcom “Parks and Recreation”, in which he portrayed Andy Dwyer. The series tells the story of employees working at the Parks Department of a fictional town in Indiana. He was nominated for several awards during his six-year run, and his performance was critically acclaimed. The role opened more mainstream projects for him, including “Moneyball”, “Zero Dark Thirty”, “Her”, and “Jennifer’s Body”.
In 2014, he gained his first leading role when he was cast as the Marvel Comics character Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
The film was an unexpected hit, and helped elevate his career further. He has appeared in other films in the MCU, such as “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”. He also voices the lead character in the film “The Lego Movie”, and is the star of the continuation of the “Jurassic Park” franchise – “Jurassic World” – with both films earning big at the box office. Some of his other recent projects include “Passengers” and “The Magnificent Seven”. He is also set to reprise his role in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” which is under production.
Jack may have a lot in common with his parents through his upbringing, such as his father’s non-denominational Christian beliefs. His father was initially raised as a Lutheran, though his views changed in Hawaii when he began working at Jews for Jesus. It was also shortly after his work there that his acting career was launched. Also his father doesn’t believe in siding with any political parties, though he donated to the campaign of Barack Obama in the past. Chris is currently married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The couple is expecting a child.
