If you’ve watched the “Harry Potter” film series, you probably remember the spiteful Aunt Marge. Despite having a rather short appearance in the third installment, actor Pam Ferris left quite an impression on young fans. Do you know that she’s been a noted actress since the 1970s?
Early life and Education
Pamela E. Ferris was born on 11 May 1948, in Hanover, Lower Saxony, then Allied-occupied Germany. Her parents were Welsh – her father Fred Ferris, was in the Royal Air Force, which is why she was born in Hanover. Her parents returned to Wales when she was still a baby, so she spent most of her early years near Bridgend, Glamorgan.

After resigning from the RAF, her father became a policeman, while her mother, Ann Perkins, worked in the bakery owned by her family. Ferris has a sister, called Barbara.
When Ferris was 13, her family emigrated to New Zealand, where she matriculated from high school. Little is known about her life from this time period, but she disclosed that she worked as a representative. Around this time, she saw the film “London Assurance” starring Judi Dench, and it was then that she decided to pursue an acting career. For a while, she performed at the Mercury Theatre located in Auckland, New Zealand, but when she was 22, she moved back to the UK so she could find more job opportunities.
Career
Ferris continued her theatre career in the UK. She worked for several regional companies, before finally making her TV debut in 1972, in the feature film “To Love a Maori”. During this time, though, she took a break from her career so she could take care of her sick mother. This is why she didn’t land any new roles until 1983, when she appeared in the TV film “Meantime”.
In 1985, Ferris landed her first recurring role in a TV series, when she was cast as Nesta in “Connie”, a drama series set in the fashion industry. Before the end of the ‘80s, she was seen in several more titles, such as “Ladies in Charge”, “Dramarama”, “Hardwicke House” and “South of the Border”.
In 1991 she landed her breakthrough role as Ma Larkin in the ITV series “The Darling Buds of May”, maintaining her role of the motherly figure until the show ended in 1993. In 1992 she portrayed Mrs White in “Cluedo”, and in 1994 she was in “Middlemarch”, alongside Juliet Aubrey and Robert Hardy. During this period, she also guest-starred in numerous TV series, including “The Rector’s Wife”, “The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends” and “Screen Two”.
In 1996, Ferris portrayed Trunchbull in the famous family comedy film “Matilda”, co-starring with famous actors such as Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, and Mara Wilson, and for her contribution to this film, she even earned a Saturn Award nomination.
The following year, she was cast as Peggy Snow in the TV series “Where the Heart Is”, remaining on the show for three years and earning three nominations for National Television Awards in the category Most Popular Actress.
Before the end of the millennium, Ferris was often seen on TV in series such as “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall”, “Our Mutual Friend” and “Wycliffe”. She was also in several TV films, including “Death of a Salesman”, “The Turn of the Screw” and “Cows”.
In 2002, she portrayed Marion Eustace in the drama TV series “Paradise Heights”, but the show was canceled after just one season.
In 2003, she was in “Clocking Off” and “Doc Martin and the Legend of the Clouty”. She co-starred as Laura Thyme in “Rosemary and Thyme”, the crime series about two professional gardeners who became the key to solving various crimes; the show lasted for three seasons, with her on-screen best friend portrayed by Felicity Kendal.
Ferris landed the role of the rather disliked Aunt Marge in the third installment of the worldwide famous film series, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, in 2004. That same year, she was also in the movies “Gladiatress” and “Picadilly Jim”. Two years later, in 2006, she was in Alfonso Cuaron’s sci-fi thriller “Children of Men”, alongside Julianne Moore, Clive Owen and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and the same year portrayed Grace Poole in the mini-series adaptation of “Jane Eyre”.
In 2008, Pam appeared alongside Liam Neeson and Antonio Banderas in Richard Eyre’s thriller “The Other Man”, and later that year was cast as Mrs General in the drama TV series “Little Dorrit”. In 2009, she was in several feature films, most notably “Within the Whirlwind” and “Malice in Wonderland”.
Ferris portrayed Sister Evangelina in the main cast of the Heidi Thomas’ history series “Call the Midwife”, about a group of midwives from East London, for four seasons before she left the show in 2016.
In 2018, she portrayed Queen Victoria in the comedy film “Holmes and Watson”. As of June 2020, her latest appearance on the big screen has been in 2019, when she portrayed Mrs. Faulkner in the biographical film “Tolkien”.
Personal Life
Ferris met Roger Frost in 1983 while working at the London’s Royal Court Theatre; Frost is known for performing in movies such as “The Wolfman”, “Time Bandits” and “The Bourne Identity”. The duo married in 1986 after a long relationship, and spent many years living in Golders Greens, London, but currently reside in Elham, Kent, England. They don’t have children, and when asked about this, Ferris once said: ‘I was obsessed with work in my youth. It’s why I didn’t get married until I was 38, and the reason I didn’t have kids.’ She added that she isn’t sad about this, not because she doesn’t think she’d make a good mother, but simply because that’s the way it happened, and she can’t change anything about it.
She and her future husband gave up smoking in 1985.
Ferris is an avid supporter of various charitable organizations that support disabled people.
She is known to be very professional. During filming the bed scene for “The Darling Buds of May”, her co-star David Jason smuggled a cucumber and kept it under the sheets. Ferris knew it was there, but that didn’t prevent her from completing the scene perfectly.
Ferris loves dogs, and as of June 2020 she has two – a Jack Russell called Elsie and a Lurcher named Stanley.
She even stated during the interview for the online magazine “Yours” that the reason she left the series “Call the Midwife” was because she couldn’t take her dogs to the new filming location in Surrey, England. The rumors were that she left the show because she had a stroke, just like the character she portrayed, but the truth was far from that.
Net Worth
Ferris has one of the longest lasting acting careers in England. As of mid-2020, her successful endeavors have earned her a net worth that is estimated at around $6 million!
Physical characteristics
Ferris has a height of 5ft 6ins (1.68cm), and weighs around 137lbs (62kgs). From looking at her pictures, we can conclude that she used to weigh more, but has managed to lose a significant number of pounds. When she was younger, she had auburn hair which later turned gray, and she has bright blue eyes.

Dawn is a former actress who was active between 1967 and 1978, while she is perhaps still best known for her portrayal of Dodie Douglas in the final three seasons of the family comedy series “My Three Sons”, which starred Fred MacMurray, Stanley Livingston and Don Grady, and which is about a widower who is raising his three sons together with his father-in-law and the children’s uncle. The series was a success as it won a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Show in 1962, while it was nominated for nine other awards.
Dawn working a variety of jobs after matriculating from high school, including owning a boutique in San Francisco while she was living there. She is currently involved in the real estate business, and isn’t planning on acting again, but has stated ‘that door is not closed’.
Childhood and education
Dawn was raised alongside her brother Leif Garrett, who has become an actor and a singer, by their father Rik Nervik who was absent during most of the children’s childhood, and their mother Carolyn Stellar, who worked two jobs to financially support herself and the kids.
Dawn attended a local elementary school, and spent all of her spare time practicing acting and appearing in movies and TV series.
Around the time when she was eight, a man who escaped from jail claimed he was Dawn’s father and that he would kidnap her and leave the country, which is why Dawn’s mother got her a German Shepherd dog called Thor to look after her – the convict was eventually caught by the police. Dawn enrolled at a local high school in 1977, and during her second year there stopped acting to rather focus on leading a ‘normal life’. She started playing a variety of sports, and upon matriculation in 1981 didn’t enroll at a college but found a job.
Roles in movies
Dawn made her debut film appearance in 1970 at the age of seven, when she portrayed the Indian Child (uncredited appearance) in the western film “Cry Blood, Apache” which starred Jody McCrea and Marie Gahva, and which is about a group of sadistic cowboys who are searching for gold, however, the movie received rather poor reviews. In the same year, she portrayed Stephanie at five in the comedy movie “I Love My Wife”, which starred Elliott Gould and Brenda Vaccaro, and which follows a successful married surgeon who starts sleeping with several women; the film won Angel Tompkins a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female.
Dawn played Decky Ortega in the western film “Shoot Out” in 1971, about a bank robber travelling with a six-year old girl, and the year 1973 saw her portray Dwana in the biographical action crime film “Walking Tall”, which starred Joe Don Baker and Elizabeth Hartman and which was a critical success, while she also played Flossie Randall in the 30-minute long comedy film “Daddy’s Girl” directed by Alan Rafkin and written by Dick Chevillat and Jay Sommers. In 1974, Dawn appeared in three films: the short comedy “The Fess Parker Show”, the horror “Devil Times Five”, and the drama “Aloha Means Goodbye”, before she was invited to repeise Dwana Pusser in the biographical action crime film “Walking Tall Part II”, also starring Bo Svenson, Luke Askew and John Davis Chandel, and which is about a man who is fighting a crime syndicate after the death of his wife in late ‘60s Tennessee.
Dawn’s last role in a movie before she retired from acting was again playing Dwana in the action crime drama “Final Chapter: Walking Tall” in 1977, which follows the last days of life and the death of Buford Pusser. Even though retired from acting, Dawn accepted when she was invited to appear in the documentary series “TV Land Confidential” in 2005, and “Biography” in 2008, while she also appeared in two documentary movies “The Actor’s Journey” and “The Actor’s Journey for Kids” in 2011.
Roles in TV series

Some of her following appearances were in series “Harry O”, “Born Free”, and “Marcus Welby, M.D.” before she guest starred in a single episode of the crime drama mystery series “Barnaby Jones”, and the adventure family science fiction series “Ark II” in 1976.

Dawn has been married two times. She exchanged vows with Michael Whitby, a British historian, on 14 December 1990 after having dated him for two years – the two divorced on 20 July 2001; they don’t have children together, and a rumor has it that Dawn is either unable to have children or doesn’t want any as she has been focused on her career since she matriculated from high school.
What has contributed to the spread of these rumors is the fact that she has been married to her second husband William John Reese since 8 April 2006, and that the two don’t have any children together either, while her husband has a son from his first marriage.
Dawn and William moved to Hawaii in the second half of the 2000s when William was offered a well-paid job there, but Dawn also spends a lot of her time in Los Angeles.

Sean Edward Hartman’s Wiki: Phil Hartman’s Son & Family
Contents
Introduction
Sean Edward Harman is an actor and artist. He is also the son of the deceased Phil Hartman and Brynn Hartman, actually best known as a result of the tragic death of his parents, whereby his mother Brynn Hartman committed suicide shortly after murdering her husband. Sean was only nine at the time of this occurring, which therefore shaped his life.
Early Life
Sean Edward Hartman was born on the 17th June 1989 (age currently 31) in Sunset, Vancouver, British Colombia in Canada.
His zodiac sign is Gemini, and he now has joint American-Canadian nationality. He was raised in Los Angeles, California as it was close to the television production his father, Phil Hartman was working at and involved with.
Sean’s heritage from his father’s side is English, German and Irish. On his mother’s side it is more of a real mix – English, Scottish, French Canadian, Danish, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian and Mexican.
Phil Hartmann, Sean’s father, was a well known and loved Canadian screenwriter, graphic designer, actor and comedian, regularly appearing on the NBC comedy show “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), completing his eighth and final season on SNL in February 1998.
He was also a voiceover artist, best known for his work voicing many of “The Simpsons” characters, as well as being the voice for Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo.
Phil was married three times, first to Gretchen Lewis from 1970-1972, then Lisa Strain from 1982-1985, and shortly afterwards met his future third wife and Sean’s mother Brynn, an aspiring model on a blind date; they married in 1987. Sean has one younger sibling, Birgen Anika who was born in February 1992. Both of Sean’s parents suffered from alcohol and substance abuse issues, as the impact of fame apparently effected both parents negatively. As a result of this, the early years of Sean’s childhood were not the most peaceful or stable.
On the 28th May 1998, the infamous suicide murder event took place that changed Sean and his sister’s life forever. After attending a restaurant in Los Angeles, Brynn Hartman shot Phil Hartmann three times whilst he was sleeping in bed. After admitting to a friend what she had done, she locked herself in the bathroom and shot herself in the head. This murder-suicide left Sean and his sister Birgen orphans; Sean was nine at the time, and his younger sister Birgen, six. They were both in the house whilst this happened, which was therefore obviously a deeply traumatic event for them both. Afterwards they were taken to a park by a family friend, who could tell they were in shock. They apparently announced their sadness that their mother ‘wouldn’t be able to take her to do all the fun things she’d promised’.
Much of Hollywood mourned the loss of Phil. In an attempt to remove the children from a media circus, they were sent to live in the Midwest with a maternal aunt, Katherine Wright and her husband Mike; the couple didn’t have children of their own. They took custody of the children, and raised them outside of Los Angeles, apparently with the children using a different last name during their childhood in order to “shield them from the media and allow them to grow up in relative obscurity”. First they lived in Eau Claire, a community in northern Wisconsin, and later in Edina, Minnesota. Later on, the children went to live with a paternal relative, their uncle and Phil’s brother John.
Early education, career, hobbies/interests
Once in school, it became clear that Sean was an artistic character just like his father had been before him.
He attended Edina High faculty for high school. During his time here he took part in artistic endeavours such as creating and illustrating the poster for the short film ‘Kimura’s Vengeance’. Sean had a clear passion for music from a young age, and was a member of several bands, one such being ‘Metamorphic Mexico’, of which there are black and white photos available.
After high school he attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design which he later graduated from, after which he interned at several artistic companies, pursuing his dream of staying within the artistic world.
Career
Sean is an actor, writer, a graphic art designer, a voice artist, artist and a comedian.
He has used his natural interest and passion with the arts to create a career that has expanded in different directions within the artistic realm. He has had various illustration and graphic design jobs, although none of them are well known to the public realm.
He is the keyboard player in the band ‘Moonstone Continuum’ which perform in the US. He is currently performing Stand Up Comedy with the Cleveland Comedy club as he can be seen promoting on his Instagram account. He is relatively active on Instagram, as @sean_hartman.
Sean currently resides in Oakland, California.
Partner
Sean is currently single, although he is very private about his personal life. He doesn’t comment on this, post about it, or make any public statements that could lead to further indications of his relationship status.
Other relationships
Sean is still close with his sister Birgen, after attending her marriage to Brandon in 2018. Birgen and Branden became engaged in 2015 and were married in 2018 in a beautiful ceremony in Italy. There are photos of this ceremony, which looked like a fairy tale occasion for Birgen. Sean remains a supportive and close brother to his sister and only sibling. Birgen continues to live outside of LA, stating that her love of nature compels her to lead a more rural lifestyle.
Birgen was featured in SNL’s 40th anniversary special show, reuniting with many of her father’s old friends; Sean wasn’t in attendance.
Unlike as children, today both proudly use their real last name ‘Hartman’.
Net Worth
Sean Edward Hartman’s current estimated net worth stands at $1 million. He and his sister were both left with an inheritance from their late parents, who had planned ahead in the event of their death, so left behind an estate of an estimated worth $1.23 million. This was to be awarded to the children in parts – 25% each after they attained a bachelor’s degree, and the other 25% each upon them turning 30.
Furthermore, sources suggest that Sean is currently making $150,000 to $200,000 yearly on an average salary through his various graphic design work and artistic endeavours.
Physical characteristics
Sean Edward Hartman is tall, with brown or black hair, and green eyes.

Since then, he’s appeared in several high profile films, including “The Revenant”, “Mystic River” and “Black Hawk Down”.
The Wealth of Tom Guiry
As of early-2020, Tom Guiry’s net worth is estimated to be over $100,000, earned through a relatively successful career in the entertainment industry. His consistent acting work has led him to good paydays though he has yet to gain a big day that would help him reach the millions.
He’s worked on a few television projects during his career as well.
Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings
Tom’s family later moved to Hamilton, Mercer, New Jersey where he would go about his education. He attended Notre Dame Roman Catholic High School in nearby Lawrenceville. During this time, he developed an interest in the acting profession, and took the chance at an opportunity for a professional acting career.
This led him to his first acting role in 1993, “The Sandlot” which would elevate his career significantly. The film stars him alongside Karen Allen, Mike Vitar, James Earl Jones, and Denis Leary, and was very successful, since gaining a cult following.
The film tells the story of a boy who in his effort to make friends, becomes a part of a local baseball team, with the team going on several adventures while in the local sandlot. While critics didn’t look too highly on the film, the same couldn’t be said for the audience, most of whom enjoyed the film.
Continued Acting Projects – Black Hawk Down
Following the success of “The Sandlot”, Guiry continued to take on film roles for the rest of the 1990s, though none of them emulated the same success as his first project. Some of his appearances during this period included “The Four Diamonds”, “Shattered Family”, “Songs in Ordinary Time” and “All I Wanna Do”.

At the start of the new millennium, he was cast in the film “U-571” playing the role of Seaman Ted “Trigger” Fitzgerald. The film follows the story of the titular submarine during World War II. The film was successful but attracted controversy for its depiction of Britain and the Germans during the war.

The film starred current and future stars including Eric Bana, Josh Hartnett, Tom Hardy, Sam Shepard and William Fichtner, and was based on the Raid on Mogadishu in 1993, when elite soldiers from the US Army were dispatched to capture two lieutenants of the self-proclaimed president of Somali, Mohamed Farrah Aidid.
The mission turned catastrophic, as a helicopter became a war zone that extended into an overnight standoff.
Mystic River and Television Work
Two years after “Black Hawk Down”, Tom was cast in a notable role in the film “Mystic River” which starred Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon, and Laurence Fishburn, and was based on the Dennis Lehane book of the same name, and directed by Clint Eastwood. The film was nominated for numerous categories during the Academy Awards, leading to a Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress win, the first film to achieve so since “Ben-Hur” in the 1950s.
At around the same time, he began working on television, appearing as a guest in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, and the original “Law & Order”. In 2007, he got his first regular role on television in “The Black Donnellys”. The show aired on NBC, telling the story of four brothers living in Hell’s Kitchen, and all somehow involved in crime, but the show was canceled after a season due to low ratings. He then continued with film work, including “Strangers with Candy” and ‘Bristol Boys”, but also with occasional guest work on television.
Recent Projects – The Revenant
Following the end of “The Black Donnellys”, Guiry was cast in the film “Black Irish” in which he portrayed Terry McKay. The film is about a man from Boston who is trying to keep his family together, especially his father who has become emotionally distant, and also starred Emily VanCamp, Melissa Leo, and Michael Angarano. He then worked on projects such as “Unforgettable”, “CSI: Miami”, and “Yonkers Joe”.
In 2015, he was cast in another high profile film – “The Revenant” – which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy and Will Poulter, and was based on the novel of the same name written by Michael Punke.
The story recounts the experiences of frontiersman Hugh Glass, first documented in the poem “The Song of Hugh Glass” – Glass who is on an expedition to bring pelts acquired by trappers in the Dakotas. During their expedition, many of them are killed by an attack of a Native American war party. With the survivors, he goes scouting when he is attacked by a Grizzly bear, leaving him to a near-death state. With two men left behind to watch over him, one tries to kill him and the other watcher. Glass then makes an effort to let him be left behind half-dead, but his will to survive and take revenge leads him to an adventure across the frontier, with numerous threats around him.
Personal Life
Tom married Janelle in 2009 and they have three children together. Their marriage was held in South Carolina at Crown Reef located in Myrtle Beach. A few years later, he was arrested at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport where it was said that he got into an altercation with a police officer, after he was prevented from boarding a flight due to drunkenness. The incident occurred just a month after the “Sandlot” 20th-anniversary reunion, an event that he didn’t attend.

I was shocked when “Peggy” was killed off WTHS in a car accident. Was that on purpose or did Pam want to leave? Wow-what an episode!
